OCR proposes a more scientific approach to its PE qualifications
"OCR's new PE qualifications unashamedly strive for excellence," says Sara Mallet, subject specialist for PE at OCR.
> Greater emphasis on the role of anatomy, biology and psychology in competitive sport
> gender and cultural barriers to participation in sport to be studied
> other new topics to include ethical issues including drugs, violence and commercialisation
From September 2016, exam board OCR's new PE qualifications will include all the topics young people need to cover to work in one of the world's fastest-expanding sectors - whether as a competitor, coach or in other related fields like sports management and physiotherapy.
